Tumim House golf mob

Back in the winter one of our clients, a passionate golfer, persuaded his friend to go and play golf with him. So we took them to a nearby golf course and they spent the afternoon there with one teaching the other.

Then someone else wanted to learn and someone else wanted to play and they were joined by a couple of friends and we had a small group. All of them are vulnerable adults living in Tumim House, a supported housing project. The trouble was we had a group of  enthusiastic golfers and only one had a complete set of golf clubs. We tried contacting golf  clubs in the area for help but none was forth coming and then we asked Activmob for help. After some discussion and e-mails they bought us a set of golf clubs much to the delight of our clients. They also want to help us get access to some other golf courses. We have a Golfmob! They play once a week, or more often if they can, with the experienced teaching the beginners. A couple of them play well while someone else is still learning to hit the ball. They find it helps lift their spirits, keeps them fit, gives a change of scenery, builds their confidence, helps them relax and provides a challenge they enjoy… how to play better next time. Their support workers have noticed the buzz it gives them. Many thanks to Activmob who made it possible.
