Local Vocal Singing Group
Happy Singing, then let's sing along......
Just a quick reminder of three singing events happening this week and next.
1. Tomorrow - The 1000 Voices Project for Remembrance Sunday.
Be one of the 1000 voices meeting tomorrow at 12.30pm outside Debenhams in Folkestone to process down the Road of Remembrance singing songs from the World War 1 on the 90th anniversary of the Armistice. For more details check out http://folkestonelitfest.co.uk/thousand-voices.html
2. Monday 10 November - Local Vocals Community Choir meets at the Chichester Hall, Sandgate 7pm-9pm. Everyone welcome - so please come and bring your friends.
3. Monday 17 November 7pm - 9.30pm - Local Vocals Singing Workshop with Nino Makharadze of Mzetamze, the women's vocal ensemble from the Republic of Georgia. Nino is not just a great singer and teacher but also an ethnomusicologist from Tblisi Conservatory. She has made a study of the fascinating array of Georgian songs with their spine-tingling harmonies and ancient traditions. She will teach us some of these songs and explain their purpose - whether it's to help with birth, death, healing or feasting - and perhaps talk a little about Georgian life today.
She is only in the UK for a short visit - so don't miss this great opportunity. Cost just £10. £8 concessions.
Do hope you can come to some or all of these events.
Any queries - please give me a ring or e-mail
