RELAXualize ( formerly known as RELAXercise ) RELAXualize is a way of unwinding the mind. It doesn't involve jumping around in a leotard or holding a challenging pose for hours in a darkened room ( not that there's anything wrong with these activities ). It's about listening to uplifting and peaceful music, thinking about things that make you happy/relaxed, moderate movement ( mainly in the mind, rather than the body ) and creating music through percussion.....and anyone can do it, you just need to have an open mind. You've probably gathered by now, "RELAXualize," whilst attempting to deal with a serious subject, ie, stress awareness, is meant to be fun and to make people laugh, which, of course, is he best possible "therapy." Janet MacDonald, Lawrence Oke, Trevor Williams Maidstone

Thanet user Forum Walk &Talk Walking has been shown to improve self esteem, relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety, and improve mood and aid in recovery. Walking, particularly in pleasant surroundings, and with other people, offers many opportunities for relaxation and social contact. The aim is to encourage people to take up gentle exercise as well as introducing them to new friends. Each week we will embark on a gentle stroll, of an hour or so, stopping afterwards for refreshments and a forum meeting. We meet once a week in Margate and walk in the local area. § Comments we have had back say that walking is an enjoyable exercise and improves physical health and mental being. § It reduces stress, promotes relaxation and improved sleep and introduces people to their natural surroundings § I’ve been through Depression and Anxiety and I found that I had a 100% increase in self esteem and Having a really stressful life at the moment means that walks are the only time I can get away from it. Always feel more relaxed and unwound after a walk maggie gallant Margate

Each walk is different depending on the weather conditions and the requirement of the group on the day. Reiki Mob Reiki is an alternative therapy that is gaining increasing popularity, as followers and users have variously reported the calming of physical or mental ailments. It is a great opportunity to re-focus and maintain a healthy mental and physical state despite leading a hectic 21st Century lifestyle! Reiki is used as a complementary therapy to strengthen the physical and mental being, or proposed as a specific treatment of a physical, emotional, and mental problem. Originating in the early 20th century in Japan, practitioners use a technique similar to the laying on of hands, which they will channel "healing energy". It can also be used as a self-healing treatment. Jonathan Weston London, North (NW5)
